Marysville Memo
April 2021
Principal's Message
I must say that my weekly visits to Marysville fill me with happiness. I've had the opportunity to visit classes, see the rich learning and teach a few music classes too. Walking into the classrooms I see hands-on, engaging lessons, celebrations of creativity, special fun days and smiles on the faces of our students as they share their accomplishments. Your children are a joy.
A special congratulations needs to go out to Kayo Murakami, on our School Advisory Council who was successful at obtaining a special grant for parent involvement. Our SAC will be hosting three workshops for families to support their students' learning by accessing learning materials to learn more about Indigenous peoples, worldviews, cultures along with what their children are learning at school. The workshops will consist of 3 parts: (1) Introduction and Knowledge Sharing; (2) Discussion and Resource Sharing; (3) Experiential Learning. There will then be a library for families to use that contains all the resources (books/videos).
There are so many wonderful things happening at our little school. Don't forget to follow us on Twitter @Marys_LDSB.
All the best to you!
Mrs Diamond

- Students are reminded to bring a re-usable water bottle to school every day. The fountain is closed due to COVID safety protocols and only the water bottle filling station is available.
- Please ensure your child has packed a spoon for their lunch, if required.

Battery Recycling
Marysville P.S. continues to accept expired alkaline and rechargeable batteries for recycling. The collection pail is located in the office and batteries will continue to be collected for the remainder of the school year. The expired batteries are taken to the LDSB Education Centre where they are weighed and then sent to RMC (Raw Materials Company Inc.) for proper disposal.
Batteries can be dropped off at the school during school hours, OR at the Wolfe Island Recycling Centre.
Marker & Pen Recycling
Through LDSB, Marysville has partnered with STAPLES and will continue to accept and recycle the following writing instruments:
